Shaun Sweeney @ STEM Recruitment is working with our client, for an exciting opportunity as an Application Scientist with an electrochemistry background to join their rapidly expanding team . The role will be focused directly on conducting technical activities supporting the clients propriety products/technology and electrochemical biosensors. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the customers & collaboration partners receive the best technical input and support.
Representing the resources and capabilities of R&D and production, the application scientist is a pivotal role connecting the dots between the customer and the clients technology and product offering.
Key Responsibilities
* Think like a R&D professional and execute like YOU are the customer
* Utilise and maintain the CRM as appropriate (guided by the business development team)
* Play a key role in identifying the applications next generation and match that with our technologies
* Utilise our CRM and marketing tools to create processes and campaigns that nurture, educate and influence customer behaviour
* Deputise for the Head of R&D in technical customer calls when required
* Carry out other reasonable tasks requested by your line manager
* Define and implement key metrics for the role and report performance to the wider business, showcasing how activities are contributing towards customer performance
* Build and maintain a deep understanding of what makes our customers successful, identify trends and discover process and product inefficiencies
* Play a key role in the development of sales and securing further fee-for-service contracts by identifying key technical challenged our customers face and how we can help
* You will work alongside the Business Development Executive and R&D team to understand and deliver on the agreed customer goals
Knowledge and Understanding
* Experience in electrochemical biosensor development
* Strong technical understanding of the steps of scientific research and development
* Experienced within a role requiring significant technical problem-solving based on own technical knowledge/subject matter expertise
* Can demonstrate resourcing multiple projects/clients with varying levels of support at differing stages of the project lifecycle
* Experience in the concept-to-product lifecycle of technology-based solutions and sensitive to the commercial considerations at each of these steps
* Thrives in challenging situations and ambiguous environments – you can think on your feet
* Supporting customers in technical understanding and scoping projects
* Presenting technical findings and seeking feedback
* A confident and adaptable technical speaker to varying stakeholders
* Provided or assisted with technical problem-solving and demonstrations for customer or client
Relevant degree within science discipline
* Represent the client at Events/support customers at their site when required, therefore a willingness to travel is essential
