Belt Fitter – Maintenance Engineer

I am currently working with a globally based manufacturing company, who are keen to recruit a new belt fitting installation engineer to their existing team in Glasgow.

The role will involve but will not be limited to:

* Varied workload, working as part of a team or an individual basis

* Visiting customers sites and completing installation work

* Working on a customised basis to the customers individual requirements

* Travelling around the North East area visiting multiple locations daily

* Conducting engineering checks and fitting of customised belts

* Having a keen eye to detail

* Working from engineering sketches and specifications

* Customer service, as you will be customer facing on the job

* Ability to problem solve and think on your feet

* A good sound engineering knowledge of both electrical and mechanical machinery

In order to be considered for this role you MUST hold a valid license with no more than 6 points, and no other driving convictions, as you will be given a work van, complete with tools in order to perform this role.

Experience within the conveying industry would be a distinct advantage however it is not essential, but you must be able to evidence experience within an engineering environment, ideally with accreditation or certifications within the engineering field.

In return my client is offering a starting salary of £22,526, rising to £23,483 once successfully completed probation, and then rising to £24,440 within your first year of service, once you have been signed off as a fully skilled belt fitter.

The company also offer an annual personal performance bonus for each member of staff within the business.

The working hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm (40 hours) however there may be an occasion where you are required to work outside of these hours in an emergency, which will be paid at a higher rate as overtime.
