We have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Operations Manager to join our team based in Gilwell Park, London or Youlbury, Oxford.

The Catering Operations Manager Role:
This job is all about making sure that we are providing high quality, safe and nutrious food at all our adventure centres. You will be responsible for making our catering work and lead the way by ensuring that strong foundations are built to enable our teams on the ground to deliver great value food to our customers as well as ensuring that no stone is left unturned when it comes to safety. You will ensure that we have the right safety processes in place from delivery to service- ensuring that our customers remain our absolute focus all the way through.
Key responsibilities as our Catering Operations Manager:
Create, implement, monitor, and review Scout Adventures catering policy, including menu’s, supply arrangements, staffing requirements and quality standards.
Be the “go-to” person for all things catering and support our centre teams to ensure that catering is provided to our guests.
Undertake regular audits of our catering operation, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and Scout Adventures agreed operating standards.
Support on site teams to be the best they can be delivering catering to our guests. This should include supporting their development, working with our line management structure to provide challenging
objectives and direct/hands on support where appropriate.
Lead the procurement and due diligence proseses for catering at our national events and for large/unique bookers.
Work with our training team to ensure that those working inside our catering operation have the right
What we are looking for in our Catering Operations Manager:
Experience in a mid-senior catering role such as school cook, catering manager or similar
Understanding of the food legislation landscape in the UK with demonstrateable experience of this learning being put into action
Some experience in the leadership or management of others
Confidence working in a values based working environment
Highly personable and people motivated
Organised and comfortable with leading change.
Ability to build effective relationships with visitors, volunteers and staff.
Be able to create and plement effective processes related to food production/storage/safety
Skilled collaborator, with the ability to use the skills of those around you to deliver best overall product
Ability to work logically in a measured and structured manner
