D&R partners are currently representing a forward-thinking, fast-growing specialist bridging, refurbishment, and development lender in the United Kingdom. Our client is growing rapidly and searching for an external Credit Manager to be a key member team.
The Credit Manager will have roles and responsibilities such as:
* Liaising with colleagues, borrowers, and brokers to gather transaction related information.
* Making or recommending a decision to support or decline a deal.
* Undertaking pre and post disbursement monitoring and due diligence.
* Working with the origination team to facilitate and make lending decisions in line with business KPIs.
* This will sometimes require attending customer meetings and making site visits.
* Preparing and presenting credit papers for Credit Committee approval.
* Post sanction preparing Heads of Terms and accompanying documents.
* Reviewing valuation and project monitors’ reports and challenging these where necessary
* Proactively ensuring that all facility conditions precedent to first drawdown have been met and the case has moved efficiently to completion, liaising with solicitors and surveyors if needed.
* Undertaking post-disbursement monitoring functions to ensure compliance of facility covenants, principally for tranched facilities.
* Managing expectations and deadlines whilst providing an excellent service to encourage repeat business.
* At all times adhering to internal and external credit policies and regulatory requirements
* Ensuring all relevant data for each loan is accurately and comprehensively entered into the CRM system, both before and upon drawdown.
The Credit Manager will have qualities such as:
* Previous bridging and development underwriting or lending experience gained in an intermediary
* focussed environment, preferably at a specialist lender or a challenger bank
* Familiarity with reviewing valuation reports, project monitor reports, development appraisals,
* property portfolio schedules and cashflows
* An in-depth understanding of the regulatory requirements (KYC, AML, SOF, SOW etc.)
* Able and willing to communicate effectively with borrowers, brokers, surveyors, solicitors and
* colleagues
* Be able to analyse, interpret and present financial information
* Working knowledge of CRM systems, MS Office Suite and other programmes required to do the job
* efficiently
* Determined, strong, and flexible work ethic
