Early Years Practitioner – Midlothian – Various Locations

Minimum of 3 month contract with potential opportunities to apply for a permanent post thereafter – Full time

Salary: £12.89 p/h PAYE + holiday pay and pension

The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting Early Years Practitioners for a variety of Early Learning Centres based around Midlothian.

Key responsibilities:

To provide a care and support for children 0-5 years that meets their individual needs, including acting as key worker for children.
To work as part of a team responsible for developing life skills in children, contribute to the planning and implementation of a balanced curriculum for children. Provide a caring and stimulating learning environment to enable children to develop and achieve.
Provide a service compatible with GIRFEC practice and within the policies and procedures of Children's Services.
Contribute to the activities of the centre and support the delivery of planned learning activities through active involvement to stimulate children's interests, aptitudes and abilities.

Qualifications and experience:

You will have previously worked in a nursery, pre-school, early years centre or similar setting and will have one of the following qualifications:

Minimum SVQ 2 in a qualification relevant to early years / childcare.
SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7.
and be registered with SSSC as a Practitioner in a day care of children service (we can endorse your registration if this is not the case).
The post holder must be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of early years practice, local and national policy, research, legislation and documentation.
