Murray Recruitment are working with an award-winning Facilities Management service provider, who have a permanent opportunity available for an Electrical Engineer based from Edinburgh.

You will be working as part of the mobile maintenance team, carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager you will undertake all electrical works within the area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.

Main Duties:

* Responsible for carrying out all service, repair, maintenance and additional small works as part of the contract

* Ability to produce permit to work/risk assessments as required

* Identify and action any faults/remedial works in conjunction with the Helpdesk

* Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks

* Assist other team members when required or as directed from Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager

* Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.

* Working with visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety

* To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time, including purchase card receipts, timesheets and mileage returns

* To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures

* Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration


* Qualified Electrician – completion of a recognised Electrical apprenticeship

* City & Guilds BS7671 18th Edition

* Commercial Electrical Experience – working in commercial environments

* Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment

* Including, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables,

* Batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)

* Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.

* Must have sound interpersonal skills and pay attention to detail.

* Provide excellent customer service to clients.

* Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within role.

* Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.

* Must be available to join a call out rota.

* Must hold a full UK driving licence.


* Salary – up to £37, 000

* Hours- Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)

* Overtime available

* Working as part of the on-call rota
