Job Title: Flood Risk Analyst

Locations: Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

Salary: £35-45k (experience dependant)

Type of contract: Perm / Hybrid

Do you have experience in flood risk management and flood resilience?

To meet our clients growing business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for an experienced Analyst/Engineer with flood risk management, option appraisal and flood damage experience to support the delivery of flood risk management schemes across the UK.

Main duties of the role include:

Technical flood risk management scheme appraisal using the FCERM Appraisal Guidance (or similar).
Expertise in hydraulic modelling using widely used hydraulic modelling software.
Determination of flood risk and associated damages.
Preparation of detailed technical reports.
Managing tasks and projects to ensure production of deliverables to required quality, agreed timelines and within budget.
Coordinating staff and providing guidance to the wider team.The ideal candidate will have:

A relevant degree (or equivalent) in engineering, economics or earth sciences.
Chartered status with either ICE or CIWEM (or working towards).
Experience in managing projects, contracts, budgetary control, specification preparation and liaising with clients.
Ability to provide technical leadership, ensuring flood management project deliverables meet clients' needs, including taking ownership and responsibility for the quality of project work to meet the highest standards.
Experience of championing technical innovation to improve efficiency and quality of delivery, ensuring effective dissemination of latest methodologies and tools.
Ability to provide insight and technical input to business development activities across JBA Consulting.

Applicants' core skills should include:

Experience of applying appraisal principals using the FCERM Appraisal Guidance (or similar).
UK sector experience.
Practical experience of the Multi Coloured Manual/Handbook.
Knowledge of hydraulic modelling for fluvial flood risk management appraisal projects.
Familiarity in working in GIS formats.
Experience of working in an Office 365 environment, including use of SharePoint.
A strong communicator with technical and financial management skills.
Experience in contract administration and client liaison.
Ability to work within and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent organisation skills, and a proven self-starter.
Broad range of experience gained within consulting or a relevant client.
A full UK driving licence will be required.
