About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly practical and organised individual to join us to support our fast-growing company as a Process Development Technician. We are looking for someone with a background in manufacturing with understanding of basic scientific or engineering processes. The role will primarily involve the running of our fermentations and development of our small-scale downstream manufacturing processes for our New Product Design Team.

Direct experience of working with enzyme manufacturing is not necessary – as we will provide full training for the role. We are looking for a driven person with the desire to learn and be part of a small, friendly team. In this role, no two days will be the same. The responsibilities for the role are:

Operation of the small-scale fermenter system (3 litre fermenters)
Operation of the lab scale downstream processing equipment for the processing of fermentation broth
Preparation of media/buffers/chemical solutions using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures, and methods for carrying out fermentation and downstream processing
Produce reliable, accurate data and records of work undertaken and results (GDP)
Support scientists and help carry out process tests and investigations into process improvementsRequirements:

The ideal candidate will have a scientific or engineering qualification at A Level/BTEC or above and have an understanding of food or chemical manufacturing equipment.
