Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time Small Works (Variations) – Project Manager, on the Scottish Schools PPP estate. Our 70+ sites are located around the Scottish Central belt, Scottish Borders and South East Scotland. A combination of on-site working, office and remote working is required in this role.
The salary is £45,000 plus company car
Our contract durations are 30 year PFI contracts, which are at varying stages of maturity. We provide Soft and Hard Facilities Management services across 6 contracts.
The Small Works Project Manager takes responsibility for pricing and delivering a range of single or multi-disciplinary projects across the sites we maintain. The project portfolio consists of variation requests from clients and internally assigned projects.
The standard hours of work are 37.5hrs

You will be responsible for:
End to End Ownership of all assigned projects
Liaising with Amey FM Site Managers, Amey Operations teams, Commercial Team, Clients and Stakeholders
Deliver projects within submitted costs
Develop, monitor and manage Project Programmes to ensure deadlines are achieved
Working with our supply chain partners and Subcontractors to ensure highest levels of Health, Safety and Quality are achieved, project timescales and cost targets are met
Conduct weekly reviews with managers
Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.What makes this role unique is is the opportunity to carry out work for our clients which will ultimately aid the delivery of education.
We want to hear from you if you have:
Experience in developing and managing project work within a Facilities management / construction environment- experience of working within PFI contract background would be desirable but is not essential
Degree or equivalent qualification in suitable construction/ management or Engineering discipline
Working experience of CDM and Risk Management
A strong team player, highly organised and a good communicator
Ability to manage Clients Expectations to secure successful Project outcomes
Able to develop design specifications, health and safety plans and other key documentation
Experienced in managing on site project works on several sites and co-ordination of several sub-contractors in the delivery of a single project.Amey is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff to demonstrate this commitment in every aspect of their work.
