Research Leader Fluids
The Role
Working with the wider Advanced Engineering community looking at new fluids developments to improve our performance and sustainability attributes
Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with supplier partners & research institutes to identify opportunities and create plans to develop new fluids advancements to support the goal of climate neutrality
Undertake studies of fluids used within the vehicles, creating and rolling out plans to reduce the carbon footprint of our vehicles
Support the R&D teams to investigate & resolve issues related to fluids selection found in testing and/or the field
Provide education on fluids engineering to the wider R&D team ensuring we are constantly educating and up-skilling the wider team
Lead fluids-based Advanced Engineering projects
Help define the future strategy and technology roadmaps
The Person
5+ years working in the Automotive Industry or similar field
Direct validation and development experience of automotive grade (or similar) fluids
A Materials Science/Engineering degree
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:
Fluids/Materials research at an institute or material supplier
Fluids/Materials development at an Automotive OEM or top-level motorsport organisation
Direct LCA analysis experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills, with good attention to detail
Comfortable working in a start-up environment
Genuine interest in making efficient, sustainable products
