Our Dundee based client has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Stock Controller to join thier team on a permanent basis. As a Stock Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that the company's stock levels meet business needs. By overseeing purchases and pricing reports, replenishing levels when necessary, and monitoring shipments or internal transfers between departments within one business enterprise.
Ensuring stock levels are correct across 2 branches (Dundee & Glasgow) – regular communication and visits to Glasgow office and warehouse will be required.
Coordinating stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as the sales and finance departments.
Analysing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock
Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock
Evaluating vendors and suppliers' offers and negotiating profitable purchase prices
Placing and receiving orders to replenish stocks as needed
Tracking shipments and coordinating internal stock transfers, as well as resolving delays
Overseeing stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labelling
Maintaining a steady flow of stock from storage to where it is needed
Performing regular inventory audits and keeping stock purchasing within budget.
Maintaining and updating shipment records, as well as purchases and pricing reports
Previous experience as a stock controller within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in inventory management software
In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices
Experience in supply chain data analysis
Great analytical and problem-solving skills
Skills in negotiation, collaboration, and communication
Exceptional organisational and time management skills
Willing to travel as required between branches
Bachelor's degree or qualification in logistics, business administration, or a related field (Desirable)
