Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Stores Operative to work for our client TATA Steel in Shotton on a 12 month rolling contract.

This position is paying £12.69 per hour, you will be required to work 40 hours per week on a day-shift, Monday to Friday.


Receive, identify, unload, issue and deliver stock of engineering spares, lubricants and other materials, processing paperwork in line with company procedures.
Locate, pack, dispatch and arrange transport of "Repairable Spares" under warranty, return items and non-conformance goods to suppliers.
Ensure tasks are carried out in full compliance of current Q.A. Procedures, Environmental, Safety and COSHH regulations.
Action associated deliveries, issue documentation and update computer systems.
Drive and operate a variety of vehicles and mechanical handling equipment. Check the condition of vehicles and mechanical handling equipment before and after use and highlight any defects.
Ensure that a high level of housekeeping is maintained at workstation, buildings and compounds.
Carry out Q.A. approved stock checking procedures to ensure financial controls are maintained. Raise damage report for damaged materials.
Report all Safety deviations to the Team Leader and update the internal Safety Reporting System.
Ensuring Safe Working Practices and Procedures are adhered to and highlight any recommendations, which will provide a safer working environment.Knowledge and Experience

The job holder must have a thorough understanding of Stores and Spares operations.
Have an understanding and working knowledge of the WM & IM processes within SAP and relevant Stores based PC systems.
Educated to minimum GCSE standard (or equivalent). NVQ in storekeeping would be an advantage.
Communication skills and the ability to liaise in a professional manner with Engineers and external suppliers is essential.
Must have a logical approach to resolving queries, with the ability to organise.
Full clean driving license is essential.
Experience of driving forklifts, Cranes, internal HGV's, slinging, Lubrication handling and distribution is desirable, or must undertake relative training.
Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, CDM Regulations, Safe working Practices, safety contacts, topic audits, Quality Assurance documentation, British Standards and Statutory requirements.
